Everyone is guilty of it. We go to grocery store and grab jars of cream sauce and tomato sauce even though it’s totally possible to make our own. And we all know why we do this: it saves us time. But today I’m sharing a cream sauce recipe for pasta that is just as easy as getting that pasta jar open!
Fun fact: In 2000, Americans purchased 1.3 million pounds of pasta.
I don’t think we contribute that much to the pasta consumption in the U.S., but we do have pasta at least weekly in our house.
Cream Sauce Recipe
The recipe I’m sharing just has 3 ingredients and they are all things you likely have on hand at all times.
Keep in mind that this is a basic white cream sauce and you can easily tweak it by adding garlic (or garlic powder) and cheese (like parmesan).
Now that you know how easy it really is, will you try making your pasta sauce at home?

My mom uses this as a base for her homemade Mac n’ cheese, we grew up calling it a roux, but it is certainly the universal white sauce.
Yes, Carmen! That’s so true – I can definitely see myself adding some cheddar and gruyere to this for a fantastic mac and cheese. Thanks for stopping by!
