Happy National Peach Cobbler Day

Cobbler is a sort of recipe that looks complicated and decadent, but really is not. And though today is National Peach Cobbler Day, you certainly can make a cobbler from whatever fruit you have on hand.

What makes it a cobbler

According to Emma Wartzman of BonAppetit.com, cobbler is fruit baked in the oven with some form of dough and is a sort of pie. It is different from a crisp or crumble because those usually have a different texture that makes it more crumbly, which is attributed to adding nuts or more sugar.

Variations that can be made

Cobblers made with peach, blueberries and cherries – the options for cobbler are endless.

We currently have a ton of blueberries, since we recently went picking at Tom West Blueberries in Ocoee, Florida

National Peach Cobbler Day

In honor of National Peach Cobbler Day, I am sharing three recipes from around the web.

Stephanie over at Spaceships and Laser Beams has wonderful step-by-step photos to guide you through the process of making a tasty cobbler. I especially love her tip to grate your butter for easier incorporation of the dough. Genius!

I am sure I have mentioned before, but Food Wishes by Chef John is one of my absolute favorite YouTube channels to watch. His peach cobbler recipe is beautiful and easy, too!

Stacey from Southern Bite is all about making good southern supper simply. This peach dumplings recipe is simple, and VERY popular because it tastes fantastic. Don’t come after me because it isn’t technically cobbler because you won’t regret making these at all!

Pinterest Board for Peach Cobbler Recipes

If you are a lover of cobbler, I’ve got a whole Pinterest board of them. The board currently has 60 pins, but I am sure I will curate more of them soon enough.

Do you have a recipe you’d like me to add to the board? Let me know by linking it in the comments below!
