Snowflake Rice Krispies

Hey Foodies! This week I’m making a fun treat, which I have shared before on the blog – Rice Krispies treats!
What make these awesome and festive is that I drew cute little snowflake designs (or attempted to!) with frosting. You can use cookie cutters or your imagination to make these suit whatever holiday – and I definitely do that.

To make two 9×16 baking pans (you’ll be sorry if you make less), you’ll need: 1 stick of butter, 18 oz. box of rice krispies cereal, two 10 oz bags of marshmallows.

Melt the butter in a large pot (or cauldron if you have one) over low-medium heat. Add marshmallows and stir until they are completely smooth (about 3-5 minutes). Remove from heat and pour rice krispies cereal. Stir until all the cereal has some marshmallow. Pour the mix into the two pans and press down as best you can with a spatula or clean hands. Allow to cool for 15 minutes and press down again. Cut to desired shape or slice into squares.

If you’ve never made your own, let me just tell you that there is absolutely NO COMPARISON with those pre made treats you get at the store. Even if you aren’t a fan of those, I would suggest you try making your own and taste the difference.

If you haven’t already, check out last week’s treat – Melting Snowman Meringues. And also stay tuned for my final holiday inspired treat next week!
