It has been a little while since I’ve had chicken because at our house we have steak 3-4 times a week. I mostly prepare steak for dinner because it is my husband’s preferred protein. This night, however, I was really craving some chicken instead.
Chicken can be made in so many ways and you can add pretty much any flavor to it and it’ll be good. I learned this from Melissa d’Arabian, The Next Food Network Star’s fifth season winner. I can really relate to her wanting to make food with cheap ingredients that still taste delicious and don’t take too much time – I made this quick recipe in about 15 minutes!
This chicken recipe was easy and quick to make and it only involved a handful of ingredients. I wanted something with kick, but also sweet. So when choosing ingredients from my pantry for this was a no-brainer – Cayenne Pepper and Honey.
Ingredients
- 2 chicken thighs (with skin)
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1 tsp cayenne pepper
Instructions
- Pat dry chicken with a paper towel.
- Rub cayenne pepper onto chicken
- Rub honey onto chicken
- Warm olive oil in pan on medium heat.
- Place chicken skin side down into pan. Cook for 3-4 minutes.
- Turn chicken to other side. Cook for 5-8 minutes (or until internal temp is 165 degrees Fahrenheit)
- Serve and enjoy!
I paired this chicken with sweet corn on the cob, which was topped with cilantro, butter, and shredded cheese. So yummy!
