It’s October… Yay!!

I am so excited for the month of October. Now that Halloween is coming up it means so is Thanksgiving, and Christmas, my husband’s birthday, New Year’s, my birthday and then Spring and then my daughter’s birthday (and my mom’s and my grandma’s all in March). It just gets me excited. Of course, this is not to say that every single day shouldn’t be celebrated. Even though we all get stressed with life – for example being in the Navy Reserve (and having my annual fitness test this month), attending college, working, taking care of my family (my husband and our family help a lot), planning a wedding… and now the holidays are here?! Yeah, that can be a little daunting. But you know what – we’re only here until we die and then it’s all gone. So LIVE people! …I just thank God for my reliance on Him.

So back to the fact that it’s OctoberHalloweenAutumn & let’s not forget Breast Cancer Awareness Month!

It’s been about a week since I’ve put up my decorations at home (I know I was early). The stuff hanging from our car port outside is from Target (also see link at the end of this post). I ran all the things through fishing line (which is strong and clear and so it just looks like the items are “floating”). We also got this really cute pumpkin at Old Time Pottery (see direct link for product at the end of this post) about a month ago with our last name initial which I put that on our table.

I love giving out candy for Halloween – getting to see all the kids in cute costumes is so fun. I’m gonna dress up in a pretty black dress and wear a purple (my favorite color) witch hat… I’m still trying to decide on makeup. Part of me wants to go scary, but I know a pretty witch is likely what I’ll do… here are a couple of the looks I’m considering (please let me know if any of these links are broken):

Any ideas for me? What cool activities will you be doing with your family this year?

Thanks for reading 🙂
