Jack and Mary’s

Where everybody knows your name… And they’re always glad you came!

There’s this little place off of Goldenrod Road in Orlando with really good and really inexpensive breakfast. That place is Jack and Mary’s. I even have friends who moved out of state and ALWAYS have breakfast here when they come home for a visit.

One of my favorite things about Jack and Mary’s is how great their cooks and servers work together – they all communicate orders and thank each other nonstop as they work to serve each customer. I know this is not just my reason for coming back – it is obvious we all love the vibe they serve alongside their food.

In addition to the friendly atmosphere, they have a standard breakfast and lunch menu, daily specials, and really low prices. Many times our family of three goes for breakfast and we don’t spend more than $25!

The other day my husband and I went and he had one of his favorite dishes – Steak tips, which come with eggs and you choice of potatoes (hash browns or home fries) or grits.

I was in the mood for Cuban bread so I requested an egg and cheese sandwich on Cuban bread (they usually use sliced bread). I was also in the mood for bacon, but went with the healthier turkey bacon (I ended up just having two of the three strips).

As usual, it was all great and all for about $20 – I don’t know for sure because Ruben didn’t let me see the tab – BUT they threw in a couple cookies for us giving up our booth for a family that was waiting. It was really no trouble to us because the 2 person booth we normally sit at was where we went instead.

So if you are ever looking for a hearty breakfast for next to nothing (I’m so serious) go to Jack and Mary’s between 5 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. any day (some holidays too!).
